未走之路
Robert Frost 的 The road not taken ,是高中英文課必讀的一首詩。這幾天在網路上無意間看到,又讀了一遍。 Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. 若干年前我還穿著制服坐在台下聽老師講課,聽翻譯和文法修辭都沒問題,但其實聽不太懂老師解釋這首詩文的內涵,讀完也沒什麼感覺,因為當時的我選了和多數高中生同樣的一條路:努力讀書、考好學測、再努力讀書、再考好指考、填進名校! 結果進了大學之後就走歪了。 開玩笑啦! 現在回首
